A bit about John Hewson

Born in Sydney, John Hewson (Born in 1946) has a doctorate in economics from Johns Hopkins University and degrees from The University of Sydney and the University of Regina. He was an economic advisor at the Reserve Bank of Australia for the Fraser Government, a journalist and a director of Macquarie Bank. 1987 John was elected into the House of Representatives and was appointed to the shadow cabinet under the Howard government, and became shadow minister and leader of the Liberal Party during the Keating Government. Hewson has since been on a number of boards of insurance and mining firms. He has strongly advocated for actions against climate change.
